Also, if you're planning to use the 7 pin round trailer plug or run electric brakes, you may want to look under the hood and make sure that the relays are in their respective boxes. I think the brakes should be good to go, but if the truck wasn't set up with the towing package, you may need to add the relays for the 12V feed to the battery in your trailer and the backup lights on it. Those relays were missing in my truck when I got it even though it had the wiring in place.
My truck came with the controller pig tail in the glove box .. & under the dash in the center , there is a factory plug for it ...Not sure if its that way in the 250's ...
Can you still get those factory pigtails? From Ford maybe?
