08 ford escape overhead light switch issue
The switch for the front overhead light on an 08 XLS escape is busted. It wont turn on when the door is open anymore.. if you try to slide the switch there is no resistance/traction.. So it is either always on or always off... Is it possible to replace this?

The center mounted overhead interior light can be replaced if necessary. It either has screws behind the lense, or it is retained by snap-in fasteners. Remove the screws, or pull it away from the headliner and it should drop down. There should be a snap-together electrical connection that would have to be disconnected to remove it completely.
Sources for replacement are the dealer or a boneyard.

I don't remember for what year it was but somebody complained that the dealer replacement for the switch didn't look at all like the OEM. Not sure how that could be but that's what they stated.
