Was walking through Best Buy and found a Viper SmartStart VSS3000 on clearance for $150. Asked if it included installation and the sales person scanned it into the register and after a few keystrokes he said "install Included." wow, what a deal!!!!!!
So, I thought..... Got back to the install bay to schedule installation, installer asks me what year, make & model? Then he grabs another part off the shelf and says you'll need this part which is another $99 and installation is $59 for that part. (This part stores the coded key info)
Well, my investment just doubled. I already dropped the $149 for the SmartStart and before I drop another $170, I thought I'd get some feedback.
Any concerns I should have about this remote start?
After I got home, I got to thinking, I don't recall telling him it was a diesel, so I'm thinking their gonna hit me for more cash when they figure they have to install a delay timer for the glow plugs.
