I just got a screamin' deal on a decent '76 F100 short bed step side with a 390/auto. It needs work, but the body is pretty nice. It has all the original sheet metal and it's solid.
I went and robbed some parts off a truck that was getting scrapped and did some general clean up on it. It made a big difference. Check it out.
So far I've rehung the passenger side door, replaced the passenger side door handle, replaced the gauges, fixed the heater controls and dash bezel, adjusted the driver's door so it opens and closes nicely, greased the front end, oiled everything that moves and tightened everything that doesn't, and gave the outside a good scrubbing.
Next on the list is to get some tune up parts and battery cables and see if I can get it to fire.
I replaced the coil, points and condenser, and made up a few plug wires. I clamped a battery to the cable ends and dumped some fuel in the float bowl of the carburetor. It fired up after some points tuning! It runs and drives now! Woo Hoo!
I have a long way to go, but it's back from the dead. At least it's easier to move around now.
