Where did you get the cps? Parts store ones are junk, get one from Ford, that's what it sounds like to me.

look into the injector wiring harness. i had a 96 that acted goofy, replaced a few of the pig tail harnesses and all was good.

yes i was thinking the same thing being it comes and goes like a had a short and the next minute not. I also forgot to mention its a got a new fuel/lift pump on it. Could an injector or idm come and go like this these seem to be the only things i didnt try. the truck runs darn good when it wants to lol

Injectors generally get fussy on hot or cold, not usually intermittent.

However the IDM will do whatever it wants when it wants.

If you have somebody who can swap IDM's with you or let you borrow one, try that out.

Yours might even have water in it and thats causing the issue.

Yeah, SD one will work, and yeah, they are harder to take out.

You can always pull yours and check for water or to see if it rattles.

looks good in there no signs of water. any other ideas i really dont know what else to try. Some times when it misses it is worse than others and its more of a chugging under load. truck always idles smooth.
