You could fit 31'' tires no problem. I know some people that have 33's on stock suspension but when taking corners they do rub slightly. I have a 4'' lift on my 87 and it is rated to fit 35's but my 33's rub on the radius arms on sharp cornering

Typically, 33x12.5x15s will fit on 15x8s with no rub.

When I got my truck, it had a 2-inch lift and fit 35x12.5x15s on 15x8 wheels and no rub. However, tires vary between manufacturers even though they are sized the same... Some have bulged sidewalls whereas some are more vertical like my Goodyear Wranglers.

My rig now has a 4-inch lift and is visually more proportioned. It's a trail runner - not a mudder:

I think they would fit but there will be rubbing on the radius arms.

I would say 33's. You may fit 35's would be awful close 1 speed bumb may rip a fender or two. Flare don't raise the truck.

We had 36s on mine stock. if that helps any, it all depends on how much rubbing you want to hear/feel
