i have a 1978 ford f150 4x4 i have no lift but installed bush wacker cut out fender flares on it i was wondering what size tires i can go up to i have 15x8 rims any help would be appriciated..when i bought truck it had 33's on it with no fenderflares
You could fit 31'' tires no problem. I know some people that have 33's on stock suspension but when taking corners they do rub slightly. I have a 4'' lift on my 87 and it is rated to fit 35's but my 33's rub on the radius arms on sharp cornering
Typically, 33x12.5x15s will fit on 15x8s with no rub.
When I got my truck, it had a 2-inch lift and fit 35x12.5x15s on 15x8 wheels and no rub. However, tires vary between manufacturers even though they are sized the same... Some have bulged sidewalls whereas some are more vertical like my Goodyear Wranglers.
My rig now has a 4-inch lift and is visually more proportioned. It's a trail runner - not a mudder:
