Okay I post a thread earlier and was given some advice on how I should have worded it so I will try again . I have a 92 E350 with the E4OD transmission and 200000 on the clock . A few weeks ago we replaced some panels that rusted out . We didn't do and wielding on the body . Well after a few days on the road the talights quit working but the parking and dash lights stayed on . We replaced the switch for the headlights still nothing .We ran a new wire to the tailights and bypassed the original setup . They were working again so I sent it out and everthing quit working so we found a blown fuse replaced that and it blew . I pulled apart one oth lights and found we had piched a tailight wire . WE fixed it and went to move it out and the OD light started blinking . I ran and OTC montor 4000E and got 4 trouble codes and couldn't detect or voltages were too high . The codes were 22 53 56 and 67 . Also the scan tool said I didn't have the transmission in park or neutral during test .So I figured I was replce the transmission MLP and rerun test . Came back with same diagnosis . I replaced the barometer sensor no change . I found a bad didoe and a blown fuse for the computer no change .It also said my tot was -40 . I thought maybe transmission was dead form mileage and dropped the pan . It had the original fluid and filter and was almost spotless . I installed a breakout box and was told the wire to the VOPWR is shorted or grounded . Where should I go short of the dealer . Thanks !!!!
Brake light power has an effect on the trans, it signals the torque converter lockup/unlock system. Have you checked the engine compartment fuses and maxi fuses..... some of them power up several systems on the cab fuse box.
Yes I did , I found one maxi and one regular in the cab . I checked the TPS and it has no power . The relay is good and the book says I have a ground out to the ECM
