I think I will go with the Autozone water pump. I put one on my 93 2 years ago and it is still going strong. I always prefer new over rebuilt because I have heard stories about some rebuild companies fixing only the failed parts in the cores and not refurbing the entire thing. New is new! Plus no core to deal with is nice!
yes, my champion rad cam with a 16lb cap, same as what was on the truck when i got it. had the original cap on it. when i got my 2nd alluminum rad it did not have a cap so i used the ford cap that was on the truck. i kept loosing the extra little bit of coolant out of the puke tank. replaced cap with the champion cap and have not had a single issue since. i tested the old cap at school and it did not build up pressure good and would not hold.

i to went with the a-zone h2o pump. have not had any issues with it. i was told that it was actually a very good quality pump.

let me get you some pics of my second rad. it is a Sila all aluminum radiator. quality looks just as good as the champion rad. packaging was good. that one cost me $310 iirc.

Not to hijack, but im diggin the looks of them radiators, i wasnt aware the aftermarket ones were quite so affordable. Are those comparable in dimension to the IDI radiators? I have the 79 super-cooler but it is shot and im kinda torn where to go with this. Planning E-fans and IC so i need some room, which a more efficient smaller rad. might just do the trick.

my rad fit great. ZERO modifications to the rad or the rad support/mounting had to be done.

Hairy, it is a direct bolt in for our IDI radiators, identical in size. None of us knows how much room you have to work with though. I am also planning electric fans and an IC, I might try to get them behind the radiator, I need to do some research first though. All that will need to wait until I get to Denver.

As i remember it, my rad is quite a bit taller, but a bit narrower than the IDI rad. Ideally i would want the height / width of both, but honestly.. guess im going to have actually sit down and think about it, measure mine, measure an IDI rad, measure the inter-cooler etc. Something i need to get on.. as currently towing is out of the question, and she likes to get warm on even small hills. However, i know the 7.3SD cooler works with the IDI rad, and i was planning on just swapping in a IDI rad anyway... dont see how its any differnt to just ordering up a new one. My radiator new is $486 + 137 for fan clutch, OR... 2xx for alum and 50 for e-fans.
