Depending on how small your hands are, you can reach to back of the head to plug in the PIE it by dropping the glove box down and snaking your hand through, then feeding the connector upwards with your other hand. To pull the radio on an '06 you have to remove the dash cover and unbolt the head, not like the old ones where you could use a coat hanger to pop it out.
you'll also need an input jack to connect to your portable tunes. I installed mine in the power output panel. Some guys just let them hang in the drivers storage bin.
Search for PIE FRD 04 AUX. Don't use the CD version. Negates the use of the CD player.

I have a related follow-up question: I installed the PIE adapter for our Sirius tuner and an iPod connection, but I hooked it to accessory power, so when we start the truck, the radio always goes back to AM or FM. If I hook it to constant power, will the radio recognize the PIE adapter immediately and stay on that source? (First world problem, I know.)
I need to get into the dash anyway to replace a gauge illumination bulb, so I was thinking I'd make this change too while I had it all apart again.
