Agree on the parts store wrenches..

I picking up a pump from the dealer today. I have to have it for Saturday sorry clay.
Darin I have the stuff to do the filter.
I'd live to do the IH filtered pump but I don't have 350 to drop on a pump

That doesn't mean it won't distort when you remove it. Maybe not but chances are good.

In southern Louisiana with a 203* stat that could get a bit steamy I'd bet.

I drive at 200-210 with a leaky radiator and no fan in 100 degree weather here in Tennessee.
Hauled 10k and didn't go over 210.
Replace the Water Pump bolts with socket headed cap screws.
You will NOT regret it.
Easier to torque, and less likely to break.
97's do not have a radiator cap.
I've heard people call them Res Caps.
Unless the Degas bottle has some sorta weird *** cap on it I don't know about.

Yeah my 96 has no rad cap either. It has a degas bottle cap though. I'd love to remove my fan but just aren't sure. It hits 100 all the time in Texas too but where I am is constant
HIGH humidity.

It's only 59% humidity here right now, but its usually 80-90%
I'm in the Mississippi valley, so its always humid here.
Lots of people are scared to run no fan.
Did you see how big our radiator is?

Degas bottle == reservoir (thus, res cap).
I would think retaining the fan would be in order if you run the engine while parked a lot, or encounter stop-and-go traffic frequently.

I was really worried about that actually.
But I'm still having my motor cool off while sitting in traffic.
I'm not doing a lot of it though.
I'd just put an electric fan in if I did that.
These things are so big, its just extra weight out front.

Two things Mike:
Maybe this you already know, but make a cardboard template with your new pump (like an stencil) and mark the holes for the bolts, then when you pull each bolt, put in the same place that is in the motor, in the template, I have been told that they have different lenght.

3 of them are longer and they are obvious where they go.
