Guys I tried searching for it, but didn't see my issue. I've got a 2000 F250 4x4 with 7.3 & 6 speed & I've got an issue with my wiring. It's like the key is "on" all the time. The problem started after a pretty good rain storm, so I'm not sure if the issue is caused from the leaking weatherstrip or something else. I pulled the dash panel off & can see where the water runs down the window pillar trim into the dash & straight onto the fuse block & computer module. I've had the truck opened up all day today (clear & breezy day) with a fan blowing directly into the dash trying to get it all dried out.
Now, the aggrivating part. If I hook up the battery on the passenger side, the a/c fan will blow if turned on, the blinkers will work, stereo works, sometimes the fuel pump will start priming up & sometimes the horn will suddenly start blowing until I pull the cable from the battery. When I hook the battery up, I can hear electrical "clicks" from the relays under the hood that you normally get when you turn the ignition from off to on position. To make sure it isn't the ignition switch, I unplugged everything on the steering column, but still have same issues. Anyone ever run into this before? Thanks for any help, I'm at that point where I'm just
Sounds like the GEM is fubar'd and possibly the PCM. Water intrusion is no fun. There were issues with leaking windshields with this generation of trucks.
Maybe you can get lucky and the GEM will dry out, then get the leak fixed and be fine.
