So I got home from a 2 week trip to the west coast and went to get into my pickup last night to take it for a spin. I tried to use the keyfob and it did not unlock the doors so I assumed battery was dead in the fob so used the key to unlock and then went to hit the unlock button so wife could get in passenger door. would not work either. We have had LOTS of rain in the past 2 weeks and inside the cab was damp feeling and the inside of the window was fogged after not opening doors at all while I was gone. went to turn the key NOTHING ... I replaced battery 2 months ago. 99% sure nothing was left on, and I will try to jump start it this afternoon. BUT, I also pulled off the panel under the steering wheel to get to fuse panel and it was damp behind it. I then used a flashlight to see if there was more moisture and could not really see anything more.
Anyone know where I could start to look for a water leak and could this be the cause of why nothing electrical will work at all. I might be jumping the gun (& have a dead battery) but either way I also have a leak, kinda thinking it may be one of the clearance lights.
After looking around some more it looks as though another common occurrence of leaks into the cab would be a windshield that is leaking ... does anyone know how I could confirm that this would be whee the leak is coming from? I am guessing remove entire dash and maybe pour water on windshield...
So.... I got home from work this afternoon, and hooked up another vehicle with jumper cables and the interior lights came on immediately but then something started popping underneath the dash. Not real loud, just a tick tick tick .... so I pulled the jumper cables off... NO CLUE WHAT TO DO NOW.
I also hit the lock button on the driver door to lock before closing door and the chime just kept dinging rapidly.
