It truly can be a small world, I graduated high school in McMinnville and my parents live in Lafayette. My dad worked at the Parr lumber yard in Newberg. One of my brother-in-laws is from Bend. It is a very beautiful place. My mom and dad bought their 2000 True Blue Cobra Convertible brand new from Newberg Ford. Their new F350 CC Dually King Ranch they got somewhere up in Washington where they bought the fifth wheel though.
I am a fan of red too. My 2000 SD is the Dark Toreador Red. I love the color but since they replaced it with the plain Toreador Red. I wanted something different. I don't particularly care for the Toreador Red after seeing the Darker version, but like somebody already said to each his own and that is why they make different colors.
Check my gallery out, mine is a 2003 350SD PSD Long bed..
it is Sonic blue on Silver Lariat 4x4 .
The color does change alittle to a purple hue, but not enough
to really make it look PURPLE. I love to color, and wanted IT
not the darker True blue, too dark for me.
The silver bottom helps keep the truck lookin' clean even when
it has an inch of dust on it.
Any way I just love pulling it to any parking lot FUEL station
and some guy walk half way across the lot to tell me he like the truck

Could be a collector's item? Nah.
Here's another picture in the sun. My wife washed it while I was at work and took the photo. Life is good! No purple there but I have to admit I looked close at it this evening in the parking lot at work and it did look a little bit purple under the lamps. One good thing is that this color does stay fairly cleaner looking and I don't feel the need to wash it as often.
BTW Kevin-the two-tone paint job looks pretty good. I see a few other sonic blue SDs around here but so far no two-tones. Good choice.
I had a dealer (not the one I bought it from) do a search
There where only 3 other Sonic Blue Trucks in the STL, MO. area,
of any kind, and non with the silver bottom., and no Long beds.
I really wanted the silver. I went back an bought this one, and love it. Yours look great too.
I need to get some better pic taken, I have some DZee mud gruads on it now, and it's really a looker.
"discontinued for 04"
I hope they didn't find any problem with the color...fade peel, ??
I would hate to have it go to crap...
I don't think it's a problem with the color - just a general change in color availability. The toreador red has also been discontinued for the SD models as well as the dark highland green. Note these are for the SD models *only*, so they may still be available on other model trucks.
