If seen that in some of the forms people talking about it. I know someone that has a ton of the ignition module I'm going to get up with him and put a different one and try that for a while and see what that does. If that does work I might go junk yard and see if I can find a 300 with that cooling fan. And if I can't find a cooling fan and the ignition module doesn't work i guess i'll take her to the shop cause I'm just about out of ideal to try
Pinging can be caused by improper ignition timing, or a lean condition. What's the fuel pressure? It should be 50~55 with the key on and engine off and 40 to 45 psi with the engine running.
I know the timing should be at 10 degree before. But what is throwing me off is that on the timing plate it has teeth and one spot it has a v. DO I put the timing mark on that or go down 5 marks if its going by 2?

A 94 should have a large gasket separating the intake and exhaust, not the fan. No problems here in S Florida heat.
The deeper v should be the 10° mark, so line it up there.
Thanks alot!! I'll set the timing to that and try it if that don't work I'm going to try the ignition module
Make sure the spout connector is removed when setting.
Hopefully the timing setting was your problem.
Here is a list of common pinging causes.
-Fuel octane rating too low.
-Compression too high. (usually caused by carbon build up inside the combustion chambers)
-Over heating of the engine or just an individual cylinder. (Hot spots)
-Knock detector faulty.
-Ignition timing over advanced due to incorrect setting or erratic ignition due to a worn distributor. Most modern engines no longer have distributors.
-Blocked exhaust, giving a high backpressure. (A significant loss of performance will be noticed)
-Note: The tendency to pinging is highest when the engine runs on the ideal air fuel mixture. (14:1) Therefore a mixture problem -running too lean or too rich- will not cause engine to ping.
Ok good news . When I re timed my truck to it quit the spark knocking. But I'm still having the hesitation When I try to start it after i drive it bout 45 min or so. And also when I let my truck sit and run hit try to run hot and I mean hot like the needle will be on the L on normal. And when it hesitate to start today my farther in law said it black smoked a little bit
