Just wondering if anyone can tell me if and exhaust from an 77' reg cab long box 1/2 ton 4x4, will fit my 81' reg cab long box 1 ton 4x4. Thanks in advance for any input.
What kind of motor do you have? A 4.9, 5.0, 351, 460? Inline 6 or V8? What type transmission do you have? NP435, T18, we need to know these things to properly assist you. Also if you would please, finish filling out your profile so we can see where you're located and put your truck details in your signature to help other forum members in your quest for help. Be sure to include to mods made to your truck in your signature, like a 750 Holley on a 460, Offy C/DP intakes with EFI exhaust, etc.

Welcome to FTE.
Sorry Siloketh, I will have to put the info in this tread for now, for some reason i cannot figure out how to make a signature. I have the 400(6.6) with a 4 on the floor 4X4. Motor and everything is bone stock at this time. The truck that it is coming off of is a 1977 460 4x4 automatic.
You need 25 posts before you can create a signature, I'm betting you just hit that number today which means the ability should be turned on for you tomorrow (after an overnight computer process runs).
Nevertheless, it's always good to specify the details in the body of your first post... some people (myself included) don't display signatures and avatars, and some signatures list multiple vehicles leading to vagueness.

Thank you Sir, I was starting to think i needed a stronger perscription.
There are a few differences in the frame between the 2 years listed, but it should still work, with the exception of the front-most part. I seriously doubt the Y-pipe from a 460 will bolt to the manifolds of a 400.
Even if it is a dual pipe system, I still doubt the manifolds are close enough to allow it to bolt up *correctly*. Plus, it would need to be designed to get around the front tank, which was optional in 77, and standard after 80.
