throttle body coating

What happens when the coating on the throttle body butterfly is removed?

throttle body coating

That is an anit stick coating to prevent deposits from sticking to the throttle body and other parts coated with it. What will happen is you will have more deposits that need to be cleaned out more often.

There are TB cleaners out there that are safe for the coating, read the lable.

When the coating is gone will it affect Throttle body performance any ?

Way to resurrect a 19 years old thread, but to answer your question no, it will not as long as you keep it clean. Which shouldn't be really hard with a decent air filter, and popping the ducting off the TB a few times a year and wiping off whatever has stuck to the blades.

You gotta excuse me but this is all new to me I'm used to my old 79 f150 351m with the motorcraft carburetor. Lol but I'm learning. Thanks for the info.
