I have a 1989 f150 with the 5.0 I just put a new ignition actuator, switch and key switch and noe I’m getting pretty much no fuel it cranks and cranks but it won’t start. Just looking for some ideas.

When you turn the key on before starting you should hear the selected pump run for about a second or two do you hear that? If you don't try the other tank and see if you hear it if you don't hear the tank running for a second or two you have a fuel problem. If you do hear it running then perhaps you have a spark problem you should check for spark

I only have 1 tank but I do not here the pump kicking on and when I go to the spout and push some pliers in I get almost no fuel coming out.

I assume you're pushing the Schrader valve on the fuel rail. You can confirm your lack of fuel by getting a pressure tester and putting it on the Schrader valve. Parts stores rent them for free

Okay I’m not gonna be able to do that right now so assuming it’s something electrical what would be my next step.
Yes that would be correct. Since you don't hear the fuel pump prime, that is a good indication your problem is fuel. Hopefully it is just a coincidence you were working on electrical when/ if the fuel issue happened. You can start checking for spark now if you want to.

Just a thought, have you checked all the fuses? Wondering if you accidentally shorted something out while working on all that electrical. And, no, don't ask me how I found this out on a different rig of mine 😆

it’s getting more weird I checked all the fuses and then tried to start it up and it ran for 3 seconds then it died and would start just crank again.
Reminder 89 has a low pressure pump in the tank(s) and a high pressure pump on the frame rail.
And the single tank still has a fuel reservoir between the tank and high pressure pump.

i think I might have figured it out I had my girlfriend turn the key and I could feel the relay click on and off. I realized that well I was putting in my ignition components I didn’t have the battery undone most the time so I was switching the fuel pumps on and off a bunch which I believe could’ve caused the problems I’m having now
OK you really need to get the pressure gauge and check the fuel pressure. When the truck started for 3 seconds that showed you have spark so lack of fuel could be the issue. If for some reason you don't want to pressure check it, you can get a can of starter fluid (not gas) and pull the air hoses off the throttle body and squirt the fluid and if it starts keep adding some and if it stays running you know it is a fuel pump/pressure problem.

I know for sure I have spark I was able to get it to run off some ether.
