A/C Compressor Finish

I just got myself a new OEM FORD A/C compressor for my 1985 F150. Since this sits right in front of the engine, I would like to keep it looking new. My old stock one looked awful, and it took quite a bit away from how great the rest of the engine looked. Is there any coating or paint I can use to protect the compressor? Like clear coat, for example?

You could always send it out to be chromed!

You could also look into POR-15 products. They have engine, brake caliper and other high temperature coatings too.

Although I like the idea of a chrome compressor too!

VHT does make a high heat clear, don't know how that would keep though. I've never had a good experience with clear coated engine components. But then again, I've never used a high heat coating.
