Thumbs up Brake Fluid Replace/Bleed - info

Good day Forum,

Replaced fluid and bled brakes on three Fords... 1997 F150 4wd, 2004 Expedition 4wd, 2005 Escape AWD...never been done...fluid was chocolate brown to black...brake pedal was not firm and 1997 had an on/off brake condition (either they were applied or not...not fun).

First - siphoned all fluid from reservoir, replaced with new (to reduce bleed time and avoid bleeding all that bad fluid through the system).
Second - bled Driver front first to purge as much residual (and now mixed) bad fluid from the reservoir
Third - executed typical bleed process; Pass rear, Driver rear, Pass front, Driver front.

Magic catch - Motive Power Bleeder
I'm a consumer and DIY-er. This tool is fantastic to speed and simplify the bleed process. Used 10psi max with the Ford reservoir cap attachment. I thought this might be easier than a two-person bleed with my wife's foot on the pedal...it was...and I highly recommend this gadget...worth the money for me to bleed three Fords in a short period of time. ...almost makes me want to do it again this weekend!

Cheers Forum. Thanks for a great resource...just wanted to give back a little...

Jim
