What is the preferred brake fluid for our old monsters? I am ready to flush my brake fluid on my '76 F250 Supercab and have read about going to DOT 4 vs. DOT 3. I have no leaks now but it looks like coffee so I want to flush and bleed the system. Also, is Motorcraft DOT 3 really superior to FLAPS DOT 3? Lastly, what's the capacity of the brake fluid system so I have enough fresh fuid on hand? I couldn't find it in my manual.

Good idea to flush and bleed. Brake fluid draws moisture, most people don't even look at their fluid till the brakes don't work!!!! If you maintain the rest of the truck this well, it will last forever!!!! They're tough trucks and with the proper maintenance and upkeep stay tough for a long time......
Do yourself a favor and draw all of the fluid out of the resevoir with an infant syring and re-fill with clean fluid before the bleeding process. Will take half the time of pushing all the old stuff from the resevoir through that is mixed up with the new stuff. (syring is also the best thing in the world for filling up those float bowls through the vents on your carb after pulling a bowl or any other draining issue) Be certain to not push the pedal between withdrawaling old fluid and refilling with new fluid.
