Step one finally complete. Got a bigger compressor. Not a Quincy or Speedaire but should push enough air for me. Sears 60 gal 3 HP. Wanted better but for $360 (reg $730) from the store couldn't say no. Happy Father's Day to me. (And all of you Dads out there)

llok at the CFM rating of that gun vs what your compressor puts out. You'll probably be able to paint a fender or something small but that compressor will have a rough time keeping up I'm guessing.
I figured a .6 SCFM difference may be compensated for since the gun needs that much more at 29 psi and the compressor can put out 12.9 at 40 psi. Anyway I don't intend to paint a vehicle. Just parts like you mentioned. A fender here a hood there. Motorcycle farings. Small stuff.
It should be close enough for my needs. The compressor is sold out now - gone. Glad I moved on it when I did.

If it's rated at that, you're good to go and could possibly get by with an overall paint job with that compressor. I learned the hard way years ago an HVLP gun will kill a smaller compressor but it wasn't rated at that much airflow.
