hey guys after cussing my truck for several hours, and constanty telling my truck and father inlaw that they r *****s, i have decided to ask you guys how to remove the dash for ppainting and rewiring. i think i got all the bolts undone but i cant get ignition swicth out or lighter. and i got the **** off the light switch but dont know how to get the rest of it off the dash. and the cluster guage i got it unscrewd i think but no clue how to unplug it without not seeing the lpugs. plz help before i accidentally roll it over a hill.
the ignition switch as a big outside nut that holds it to the the dash. the three little knotches around the switch are what help you get it out. i use a straight screw driver with a melted vacum plug around the tip to keep from scratching the chrome. for the light switch and wiper switch there another nut for then also. i have yet to find a easy way to get them off. i just break down most of the time and use a pair of needle nose vise-grips clamped on them and slowly back them off. dont for get about the two bolts on the kick panel one per side. also i would take the dash pad out first. little screw on the top and a few nuts underneith and one tricky one in the middle where it drops down. good luck hope all goes well.
lol couldnt sleep last night so went out at 4 in the morning and took it out for some reason everything just unscrew perfectly wen i went back. and i just unplugged the harness on the light switch. took five minutes wen i went back out.
