Anybody have any words of advice regarding hood adjustment? It seems that no matter what I do adjustment wise, the rear of my hood bounces up out of position. It looks to me like the problem is at the latch, but I could be wrong. Should the panel that the latch plunger attaches to have flex in it? Mine does. Should the vertical piece of heavier guaged pressed steel that extends from this same panel and goes behind the hood badge be attached to the back of the hood at the badge? Mine is not.
The panel you note should not flex and the vertical reinforcement should be spot welded to the Hood Outer. If that doesn't solve the fit problem, you may have to elongate the hood hinge holes which is what I had to do on my 55. Very few of these 53-56 hoods have a really good fit. It's sort of a compromise for the best possible.

I'll try spot welding the support back into place first, I suppose.
Tilt forward? With original sheetmetal, or what? Whole frontend, or just the hood? This is a F800, and it sure is a reach to work on anything under the hood. I find myself standing on the front bumper a lot...
