C4 trouble

While driving my truck (302 with c4 tranny) today slowed to turn, every thing seamed fine and after made my turn got on the gas pretty hard truck went from 1st gear to nothing? Pulled over tried shifting manually through the gears nothing doest even try to move. Trailed it home let it cool and tried again still nothing. I dont know what it could be, fluid is full linkage is is moving anyone had this happen?

You mite try disconecting the shifter linkage from the manual shiftlever to see if you can shift it by hand under the truck on the drivers side, that would be my first move.

NOTE both pics are upside down, As you can see in the pic on the right the shifter cabel is not conected, so you should be abel to manualy move the lever wich will be pointing down when the transmission is in the truck, towards the rear of the trans all the way to the last click wich will be fifst gear. Then you should be abel to slowly move it forward clicking thru each gear till you hit park wich will be all the way towars the front. If this works properly and you can feel each gear, next Id check to see if you have a neutruel safty switch. If you do and the motor wont start, it may be an electrical problem, since this device is meant to deny voltage to the circuit to avoid starting while in gear. It is a plastic device with 2 or 3 wires coming out of it and it could have a loose or bad conection. These are both easy to check. I am samanticly challanged so I hope Im makeing sence. The pic on the left is the other end of the shifting linckage inside the trans, with the valve body removed, ignore that for now.

Had that happen exactly about 15 years ago on a TH350. Turned out to be the front pump and needed a rebuild...

Sounds like a pressure problem, I agree. Any leaking fluid? Maybe just a loose connection in your tranny lines. Hope it's not needing a new pump for your sake. Good luck. I have a c4 as well...interested to see what the problem is.
