No Start problem found

My 05 with 87xxx miles died while driving around 40 mph with no restart. SgII showed icp to be 110 -120 while cranking. Pulled the IPR and found the screen was missing and the primary o-ring(greenish color) was also gone. Found parts of the primary 0-ring stuck in the end of the ipr valve causing it to not be able to close fully. The screen was located in the hpop and came out in one complete piece. Put a new screen, and o-ring kit on the IPR and reinstalled and it fired right up. Is this a common problem for the the IPR to blow the o-rings and screens off?
