I know its been fairly common for spring threads to show up but i have my own "scenario" and some questions that i cant seem to find.
I just added matts SRL+ tune to my truck and sure enough it found my weakest link immediately, i am get very noticeable axle wrap on acceleration. to combat this i plan on doing a spring swap,
I want springs that will minimize or eliminate axle wrap, i would love to get a few inches of lift and a level stance, and i want it to be strong enough to handle my diesel engine, a heavy front bumper (Heavy Duty Winch Bumpers for Ford F250, F350, F450, F550, Excursion Trucks Outback Model by BUCKSTOP Truckware) with winch over 200lbs over stock (on my wishlist currently), and all cargo/towing needs when necessary (minimal towing currently more planned for future)
V and B swaps have by far been the most common ive seen but i feel they may not be perfect for my desires and im leaning towards W for the fronts and modified B for the rear, but im wondering if modified B will be enough to give a level unloaded stance or if i should just go with C springs or maybe B with an ras?.
ride stiffness is a sacrifice i am more than willing to make if its required to get a level stance, but if possible i would like it to ride smoothly. A few inches lift, no axle wrap, and strong springs that will last are my goals.
also does having stiffer springs have a negative impact on the longevity of front end components like tie rods ball joints stabilizers etc? my thoughts are that the springs are there to absorb the energy but if the springs are too stiff for the weight on them then it will cause more of the forces to be put onto other parts. havent had much experience on suspension yet so that is only my initial concerns on it.

Joe, With that Buckstop bumper and winch on your wish list I would stay away from the V codes and look at the W or X codes like you mentioned. I had some decent axle wrap on my V-10 while towing heavy with the stock springs, I went with the modded B's, a 1"+ mini pack and the taller 3.75" blocks and have not felt the wrap since. The B's are just that much better than our stocker! My goal was to get a little lift for 35" (that I still haven't got yet!) and higher capacity springs front and rear to handle our 11k ToyHauler better and to have the truck ride level while towing. I also added an extra leaf to the front X codes for just under 4" in front and just over 4" out back. It's a truck and now it does ride like one.
very true with a diesel and the winch and bumper my front end is going to weigh a lot and will need very strong support, and its better to go bigger now and have everything hold out rather than do enough to just get me by for the time being and then later on realize i need to upgrade again.
ive heard everyone that tries the roadmaster active suspension loves it, what exactly makes it "active" i will look it up later, im just a little leary on spending that much more money but if its really that worthwhile then it will be money well spent. im just curious as to the difference between new spring vs new springs and the ras on top.
I was getting axle wrap running a 140hp extreme tune and even more axle wrap with 10000+ lbs in tow with a 80hp tow program. Ran it on stock springs and tires for a few weeks before doing the lift and had noticeable axle wrap. Then went with V on a 4.5" hanger and mod B with a 6" block. Still had a little axle wrap which you may not have on the stock 2" block. To solve the axle wrap and rear steer issues I went with OUO traction bars. Solved all the issues while maintaining a great ride. I am very happy with the setup. With the bumper you planned you may want a heavier spring than V. The V mod B setup does have a great ride. Not to stiff yet firm enough to improve handling both unloaded and loaded.
