Ok guys fixin to do my filter install i was going to do brass tees but went w gates tees instead there suppose to be push on but would yall suggest using clamps as well and also using napa filter head the in port come of the block out to the pump correct? thanks
In port out of block to the pump. That is correct. Make sure you use the crap for the threads on the filter head fittings. Mine don't leak and I used that stuff, Talyn probably did too but still leaks (guessing). I just used a plastic tee also. Don't know much about the fittings you have, although I wouldn't put anything together without some kind of clamp.

Yeah, I used liquid Teflon.
Never had a problem with it till using it with coolant.
My Water Temp Sensor leaks with it also.
I hope it doesn't go bad, because I bought one of the half pint jars of the shizzle.
Installed mine above the overflow on the opposite side of the engine bay and have not experienced any problems. I do hear the coolant as it is pumped through the filter while driving.
Got my filter done yesterday flush and fill w fleet charge just to tell u get plenty of 5/8 hose i got it all done only to find one of the hoses i was gona keep had a nik in it but i was done when i found it so had to lose a little coolent to fix it so check all your hoses before filling
As to whether the filter has to be below the degas bottle, not necessarily. As long as the output of the filter head is the highest point of the filter mount (and you have a high pressure differential), the filter can be higher. The main reason to have the filter mount below the coolant level of the degas bottle is to make sure you don't trap air in the filter. This issue is negated by high(er) pressure differential between the input and the output of the filter.
Properly mounted, the system has positive pressure (from the pump) on the input side of the filter and neutral (or system) pressure on the output side.
If the filter is set up as a vacuum system (where coolant is pulled, not pushed ... or where the pressure differential is not very high) you must have the filter lower than the lowest level of the coolant to suck air out.
Coming from the water pump to the degas bottle, it doesn't matter where the filter is. Placed between the cab heater hoses, it matters where the height of the filter is, because the pressure differential (between the input and output of the filter) is not great enough.
Good, I got in touch with Bob at dieselsite and he also said my location by the brake booster was fine.
Do you have another pic to show where the other hose goes from the filter to the passenger side, because I assume that other one comes from the port of the water pump, right?
