When I am at idle('99, 3.0l ,47k miles) I have an intermitent vibration/shake that runs through my truck. It will idle smooth for a bit then vibrate/shake again. I have only had this truck for about 2000 miles. Put the cheap gas in the first time and had lots of engine knock.Have run 2 tanks of 92 gas and knocking is not as bad but still there when accelerating or under load.
Any suggestions?
The 3.0 is known for pinging but normally 92-93 will stop it. The is also a TSB about it so you might be able to get it covered under the emmisions warranty. You could also try cleaning the MAF.
Ive been experiencing the same problems you have with the looping rough idle...i cleaned the MAF last night and seamed to clear up the idle somewhat. you might want to give it a try...here a link that should help....https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/s...hreadid=116328
I can't post the TSBs but if you email me I can give you more details. I don't think the TSB will help you if it still pings on 93 octane, I would look at the MAF and other places first.
