Thanks so much guys! Well, we got out of the hospital friday night and we've been staying at Ravin's brother's house in Seattle. She is progressing well, but has trouble shutting her left eye, which got too dry and so we had a couple of eye dr. appts, and another tomorrow morning. Then we should be able to catch a ferry back to the island. Been quite a week! Seattle really is a good city for medical work, and we are glad it's only about 70 miles away after the ferry. I finally got connected to internet here this morning , so it feels good to be 'back'. Funny how a group of guys I've never really met can be friends, but that's how I feel. Now that she's feeling so much better, I'm looking forward to sneaking down to the shop this week and installing that new clutch master cylinder. We're thinking I can go to my tractor/engine meet for at least a few days, and maybe her sister or a friend can spell me while I'm gone. First, she needs to keep up her good progress, then we'll see. I'll check back in when we return to the island. Thanks again, GB
Gary this is great news. It amazes me what our bodies and modern medicine can do. The brain's ability to rewire it self is magic if you ask me. I hope the speedy recovery continues.
I'll take happy endings for a thousand Alex! Snuggling on the sofa back home together-- doesn't get any better then that. So very happy for the both of you.
First of all. Ravin thanks you all for your kindness and nice comments. Today we took a 7 am ferry to the mainland for an eye dr appointment. Her left eye still is stitched shut temporarily to speed up the healing until her facial muscles kick in for good. He says next week and he'll take out the stitches in her eye lid. She is walking well, and all her functions are good. Her doctor that she works for here on the island took her stitches from the operation out on Tuesday, and she gets better every day. Work for me is piling up a bit..... Picture this scenario.... We get up at 5:30 am to catch a ferry at 7:30 am. We get off the hour and a half ferry ride and drive to Mt Vernon Wa and arrive at 9:30 for a 10 am appt. The visit lasts exactly 3 minutes and he says all is well, come back same time next week. Now we drive to catch the 12:30 ferry back to the island, and it's really foggy so the fery is late. Well we arrive at home at 3:30 this afternoon, and my employee never showed up, so Ravin, me and my 18 year old son worked until about 7 pm so we could stay on track for tomorrow. Not complaining, it's great to live someplace where we dont have a stoplight etc. Not to menyion 75 square miles where the speed limit never exceeds 40 mph. Such a great location to have 35 years with old trucks and never worry about converting to disc brakes or a 307 rear axle....... 4:11 is perfect here... Thanks so much my friends. GB
Man Gary I hadnt looked in on you in a while. Just read your thread and got caught up. Im glad for you both that all is progressing well. My thoughts are with you both from the east side of the hills.
Glad to hear of positive news. Hang in there bro, Drs. always take a lot of your time. In your case just getting to them. Glad you had help getting caught up. It is hard to get good help no matter the bussiness type or location these days! They hired a young fella at my work last week and he only lasted three hours because he found out he couldn't smoke on the job!
