I've got a 2005 Excursion (6.0 PS Diesel) which for the most part I've taken immaculate care of. That said, I think I might've knocked something loose offroad a few weeks ago. Since then, there are four related/distinct issues:
-A/C works fine, but no longer comes out of the front vents (rather,
only out of the defrost and floor vents now);
-Blinkers dont work (although the hazards work fine);
-Rear sensors (when in reverse...beep beep);
-Seat warmers.
Ford dealership found that it was just one of the fuses, but NOT the one you'd think (as I'd changed all those already). They discovered it was fuse #27 (15amp) which is the "Ignition Switch Run feed".
So, we put in a new fuse and everything works fine but only for about 5-7 starts, then it all goes out again. (Although like I said, the A/C still works, but just out of the wrong vents; and the blinkers stop, altho the hazards work fine).
Weird huh?
You guys have any suggestions? While I can easily keep switching out the fuses, this is only a 'bandaid' for something bigger that's wrong, plus I dont want an even bigger problem. Thanks much!
A/C door is controlled by vacuum so it's either a separate issue or the vacuum pump is powered by the same fuse.
If it may be related to the off roading adventures I'd start looking closely at the wiring UNDER the truck. Especially tail light and hitch plug. Might just be smashed enough to short somthing powered by that fuse to a ground wire inside the bundle. That is to say the problem may not be an easy to spot, mangled area but just a mashed place. Too bad it don't just pop the fuse when you plug it in. The intermittent problems are the hardest.

That fuse feeds a lot of stuff. You're going to have to trace circuits out until you find the short. I don't have Excursion diagrams. But the F-250 should be the same.
