Need some advice

I am about to purchase two trucks for great price, a running 65 f100 with a 300 3 on the tree and a non-running 64 f100 with a 352 4 sp. The 65 has a couple of rust spots one on the driver side fwd fender and on the lower fwd inner door pillar. Now my question is what all is interchangeable on these two. I have been trying to search for answers myself but come up short or just not wording properly. This will be my first project. Im pretty excited as well. Thanks for reading.

Welcome to FTE! outer fenders, doors, front bumper, beds, are just some of the things that will swap from one to another.... Cabs, Frames, inner fenders aprons, front suspension do not interchange. Rear ends will swap... 64 should have a 292 Y block from factory, if it has a FE 352 it was swapped in.

Good Luck with the purchase.

Yup what he said the 352 was not in the F series until 65 so your 64 would be a swap.... but a common swap!

Thanks for the help, I was really hoping that the cabs would be swappable as a backup. I did do quite a bit of research last night since there was not much going on at work. As for the motor I'm gonna stick with the 300 for a lil while and work on the 352 then swap out

Welcome to FTE

This is the rust that is visable to the naked eye. What about the rust that isn't visible?

You live in ND, where salt is used on the roads, plus the truck is 47 years old. So, how well has it been maintained over the past 47 years?

Look at the radiator support where it bolts to the frame, at both the front & rear cab mounts, look under the floor mat at the floor pan.

Since rust is visable at the inner door pillars, you can bet the farm that the rocker panels are rusty (rusted out). Look at the cab corners, bed pan.

Some of this 'lookin' will require crawling underneath w/a flashlight. Would be far better to take the truck to a service station, put it up on a rack. Take a magnet along to locate rust hidden by bondo and/or paint.

The "great price" won't be great, once you realize how much money it will take to fix all the rust issues.
