Hello all, I'm a new user here but have been lurking for a while reading posts.

I just picked up my 02 F350 (have an 88 Bronco, 00 Exploder and 02 Escape already) and when researching the dash hook's purpose I found out it replaced the old ashtray. I found the part numbers (F81Z-2504810-AAC and F81Z-25048B26-AA) to get rid of the worthless hook with the ashtray again for my little trash.

Anyway, got the parts in (brand new) and a perfect bolt on except that the top of the housing is loose (pull the ashtray out and the housing pulls out at the top as well), so I'm thinking there must be a clip or something that I'm missing but have no idea what part number that might be.

Anyone here have any clue? Thank you in advance for any help!

 

I added a couple bolts to mine. I went out and looked at mine and it appears that there are at least 4 bolt holes...maybe 5. I don't have anything in the one with the recess and it has been fine for years.

 

Hmmm, if I can't find the top clip (or whatever it is supposed to be) I may have to go that route. Thank you!
