There was a big discussion here quite a while back (Shaun remembers better than I do... ) and there were several names suggested for the 80-86 trucks, but Bullnose won out.
I personally don't like it and don't refer to my truck by that name, but oh well.
Haven't, as yet, found it to be a term recognized outside of FTE. You would think that once we "said so" it would be - everywhere. But, alas, only y'all understand me when I use that term, although why would I need to use that term since we are all reading the forum about them? So, I don't use that term, which means it isn't getting propagated and, therefore, won't become accepted by the masses as the nickname of our trucks. (Seems like Catch 22.)
Being new to the "bullnose" era trucks recently, once I came here with you fella's, I just assumed it was the official recognized nickname of these trucks. I've used the term outside the forum, now I know why i get the odd looks
