WHICH TRANS COOLER?
I'm looking at getting a better trans cooler for my 2000 f250. I know the 6.0 coolers are the way to go but for 500 plus theres got to be a cheaper solution. Has anybody had good or bad results with after market coolers brand/size/price would help. thanks again

I got mine from silver state ford, I think it was around $300 for a 26 row. I tried to get a used one off ebay but it was trash when it arrived. Next best would be a setrab or earls, but there's not any cost savings.

An additional inline cooler should work fine, I'd probably get one with a thermostatically controlled fan.
It don't make sense to change the ATF before installing the cooler and waste new ATF. I'd change it when installing the cooler.

Some might say that an additional inline cooler might effect the fluid pressure.
Unless you are towing very heavy a single large cooler should be plentiful and I wouldn't bother with the themo bypass.
Yeah change the fluid after you have installed a new cooler, The dealer has the proper machine. Heated transmission fluid changer. Or you could do it yourself and save some $.
