Looking at pros and cons to doing a turbo back straight pipe. 2004 f-350 4 door long bed. All i really do with truck is pull my 12k lb 5th wheel,
truck is all stock
Pro. Loud Con. Loud . My kids love it. Wife hates it. I love it when an old lady gets in my way and I need to teach her a lesson. Don't do it if you have emissions or some one that looks at that with safety inspections. Other then that cheaper the a new pipe, and keeps turbo temp cooler. So say let low end power, but I have not seen that.
Leave it stock and you never have to worry about being inspected wether thru scheduled or roadside checks. If it should have to go to a dealer for repair you also don't have to worry about them refusing to work on it.
I left my cat on and cut the muffler off and put a piece of pipe in where the muffler was. Actually pretty quiet unless you get on it good then it growls and cackles pretty decent but under normal acceleration it is no big deal actually fairly quiet.
I have a 4" turbo back MBRP with muffler an no cat. It's pretty quite til u get on it. Then it's got a nice deep tone to it. But goin to lose the muffler soon because I want it louder. Wife might hate it but I don't care, it's my truck not hers.
