thanks for the info. yes it is a flathead. the wiper vacumn is right below the carb and at a angle to the drivers door. there appears to be another vacumn plug right next to the wiper one and square to the fire wall. it looks like it may be troble getting out. do you know if this is a vacumn port.
There is two but one goes to the distributer. You could just buy a Y splitter and use both the wipers and power brakes. This may also make the wiper motor and brakes not as powerful. I personally like a hard pedal. Our Chevy van has the worst brakes ever you just tap the pedal and it screechs to a stop no matter what speed.
thanks, i just realized this morning that there is no vacumn going to the dist. the last onwer pluged it. i am thanking of adding a vacumn canister to increase the volumn
These two are manifold vac ports and you can hook what you want to these. That second plug is a pipe thread plug and it removes without too much trouble. I put a nipple on there as the connection for my pcv hose.
I don't see any reason why you couldn't use that for your brake vac source. I would go with a vac can for better performance. In fact I plan to install one for my wipers.
The vac source for your distributor should come from the carb body and be venturi vacuum. It varies with the amount of air moving thru the carb throat to advance/retard the carb as necessary. Not all 94 type carbs have the fitting where you need it.
