Mazda who is owned by Ford can put a 3.0 220 hp engine in a four door sedan.....check it out. What is up with the Ranger? Sure hope Whipple gets that supercharger on the market soon.
Yes, the extra power would be nice, but that engine just isn't set up for use in a truck. Power is way too high up the RPM scale. Peak HP was at 6300 RPM.
Anyone else notice that the Mazda version of the engine is DOHC and 10:1 compression, while the Ranger version is OHV and 9.5:1? I wonder what it would take to swap the heads and DOHC setup...
The point that I was trying to make was that the 3.0 ranger has a measly 150hp......while these little sedans pass me on the road that have 200 plus hp
