2004 Superduty Clock T-Case Down?
Hey guys I have a 2004 F250 SCSB with a 5.4 and a 6.5" Pro Comp Lift Kit. I have a lengthened drive shaft custom made for the front. The top is CV and bottom is U joint. I have not had any trouble with the bottom U joint but the top CV only gets about 20 to 30 hours of good 4x4ing (37s, low range, high torque load at times and lots of flex outs) and the top CV breaks off on me. Manual hubs so the shaft never turns on the highway. It is pretty steep but my drive shaft shop says the high angle drive shafts(not what i have) cant go over 1200rpm and they are about $2,000 to buy as opposed to 400. Is this normal wear and tear and can you clock the transfer case down to reduce the angle of the top cv? No binding and everything turns easily and freely by hand with hubs unlocked. thanks for any help.
