I've had a 5100 Bilstein stabilizer on order from XPD diesel for 2 weeks now only because AJUSA did not have any. I find out today that XPD won't have any until July 31st, WTF over, they could have at least told me that it was back ordered when I ordered it from them. Now John from Shock Warehouse e-mails me to say that there is a 'national' back order on these stabilizers. I guess that us FTE members are overloading these Bilstein shock people with way to many orders to keep up with. If I would have know this I would have bought some Bilstein stock 3 months ago. I can't find this stabilizer steering shock anywhere. Oh well guess I will just have to wait. Am I the only one or are some of you guys/gals in the same boat? Thanks, just me ranting I guess!
I will be installing them on a stock height truck.
I understand from other posters that duals are not thought of as a real need on 18" tires and unlifted non-rock crawling duties. Nonetheless, I wanted to increase the front stability/firmness as much as possible.
Sounds good. I'm curious to see how you like it. Let us know if those 5100 shocks in that come in the stabilizer are shocks (have rebound) or more like a stabilizer shock (no rebound).
Top Gun Customz says this on their site: "our exclusive Bilstein cylinders that have been made specific for this application. The manufacturer is making these to our specs and it now has it's own exclusive part numbers just for this application."
Just canceled the order with Top Gun. Just to verify, even though the site mentions nothing re. lifting or leveling to use the dual, they told me that a hard bump could cause the dual system to impact the cross member. I would have liked to know that up front on the order page.
