I just wanted to say hello to everyone in the 6.7L family. I traded in my 2001 F-250 7.3L last night and drove home in a 2012 6.7L DRW.
The 7.3L has been the best engine in these trucks for a very long time, but from what I have been reading the 6.7L has been doing an amazing job at taking over that title.
Any and all information about things to do to my truck asap are welcome, but I plan to keep this truck as stock as possible for as long as possible.
Good news is that grin on your face will likely be there every time you drive it. I still catch myself grinning when my right foot gets a little heavy!
woo hoo. the grin will turn to wow when you hook up a heavy tow to your new truck. a quality lubricity additive wont hurt and drain your dfcm often and enjoy a comfortable ride.
It's easy.
On the left side slightly behind the drivers seat on the frame rail you'll see a yellow valve on the DFCM bowl.
Just make sure it's nice and tight when you're done draining and that's all there is to it.
It gives you a chance while you're under there to check on other components.
What is JOB-1 in your signature? I have seen that before also, but have not looked into it yet.
Just fyi, I am good at using the search, I wont be a thorn in the 6.7 forum asking all these questions that have already been answered, just thought I would ask since I see it in your sig.
Ford ran two jobs for the 2011.
Job 1 production started in Feb. 2010 and my truck was built in May 2010.
They shut down the plant sometime in July 2010, retooled for new features for the 2011 models and then that starts Job 2.
One example is the 3 vs 5 blink with/without a trailer.
Job 1 it's always 3 blinks.
With job 2, the computer changes to 5 blinks with a 7 pin trailer.
That's just one example.
Nice truck joe. Our tech folder has shaped up nicely. There's a great engine book and lots of tips, like which wire to cut so the truck doesn't ding at you when the key is in it and you open the door.
Welcome and congratulations!! I like seeing another "dually" show up! I have only had mine for a little over a month and I smile in my sleep! I hope that you enjoy your new SD.
Thanks Kper, that makes mine a JOB-2, but I guess everyone would know that since it is a 2012, right?
Great idea Sam, I did not even think about that, and for $20 that is totally worth it. Do we all have a step in our tailgate? I bet that makes it more expensive, and stolen more often. I think my truck has a actual tailgate lock already though. Not positive but I know there is a place for my key back there.
