The damn fool that ripped out the rusted gas tank on my 'new' 74 F-100 also took the filler hose, vent hose, and just found out he clipped the green sending unit wire (so he threw the plug/connector out too). The plug on my new FG73A Spectrum Premium sender looks like two threaded studs. Does anyone know if the OEM plug/connector is made anymore?
Yep...you can still get them...Numberdummy may chime in with where you can find one from a Ford Dealer, but you can also order one from LMC...I think it is #7 that you are looking for...

I got an idea. I just got two of the single push on boots from couple of Fords in my salvage yard. I'm gonna solder the connectors onto what is left of my wires (green and ground). the only issue might be if some water gets in between the two connections on the sending unit and 'grounds out' the sending unit. I might stick a dab of non-conducting silicone between the two studs.
As long as they fit over the posts, that should be fine. And anybody feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but I would think that a dab of dielectric grease ought to do the trick
thanks. I'm going to use some basic silicone caulking. Dielectric grease won't 'cure', but that caulk will cure / harden. Hoping the acetic acid in there won't rust the 'gold plated' studs.
