If you plan on taking off the linkage bar, you have to be very careful when taking it off because you will break the studs that it fits on very easily. Your first inclination is to use a pry bar or something to get it to pop off the studs. That will work, but we've broken the studs trying to do that. Then you're worse off. We use a small bearing/gear puller to get them off there - you can take the two arms and hook on the linkage bar and pull it right off the stud. Never broken one like that.
