I am considering getting a new pickup in the near future. I currently have 3 vehicles and would like to shave it down to only two. What are people realistically paying out the door for a 2012 FX4 with the EcoBoost. I realize this will differ depending on options, but a general idea would be appreciated. The ones I've looked at have a sticker price of around $43,000. Are there any incentives out there right now that I should know about? I've never bought a new vehicle, so if you have any advice or things to look out for, please let me know.
if you can wait till the end of year you'll get better deals. if not go at the end of the month when dealers trying to get rid of there stock for better numbers on that month.
now the dealers have cash back of up to 5k in some locations and for some different thing, like loyalty, armed forces discounts, student, police discount. if you look at fords web site you will find out what is offered and what you can apply for. remember don't be afraid to just get up and leave if they need the deal they will go lower. lets be honest the mustang and F150 are ford's *****. it's what ford sales the most of or there most wanted so a lot of dealers don't worry about selling them they let them sale them selfs. so don't throw 30k down and say i want that 43k truck. but if you ask them to drop it down to 39k out the door they might just do it! this is all just what i have seen so i might be off a little but hope it helps and good luck!
around my area(southern MN/northern IA) most dealers are taking around $7k off MSRP as their advertised "best deal" price. That includes any rebates for trading in a newer vehicle and financing through ford, but I think you should be able to get that kind of price no matter what you do, maybe even a little more off if the vehicle has been sitting on the lot for awhile.
I'm in no hurry to buy anything. My 05 runs great. Only reason I want to sell is that mine is a super cab and I'd like a super crew. That way I can get rid of my wife's escape as well and be down to two vehicles (I've also got an 07 fusion). I will just keep shopping around until I find a deal I can't refuse. Til then, the 05 will do just fine.
Go to Edmunds.com and price the truck with the options you want. You will see invoice price. I think if you said start at invoice and then subtract incentives and then add tax and license they would go for it. They still make enough money with dealer hold backs, etc.

Agree. Got my EcoBoost FX4 for what dealer said was $300 under invoice but from my Internet research I thought it was about $200 above invoice. Since it was off the lot there was a $2000 Ford Incentive and another $1000 for financing with Ford (for at least3 months). So it was approximately invoice price minus $3000, not counting my trade-in. I was going to order a truck, but the incentives let me get a truck with more options for less cost - so it clinched the deal.
About 1000 miles on the truck so far and very happy with it!
I bought in March. Mine stickered at $49,200 and I was out the door at $39,100 (sales tax excluded). This included the incentives, but I did not use the Ford financing incentive. I ended up pretty well below the Edmunds TMV.
