Truck randomly shuts off?

I have a 95 f350 that randomly just shuts off. You never know when it will happen or why it just does. Any clues?

Side note. The GPR seems to not work. I have replaced this on more than one occasion and yet they might work for a short time then go back to not working.

Please help

Jay

Also does the fuel pump circuit and glo plug circuit have any relationship?

Define random...no start, starts, does it make it out of the driveway?...then when your driving it dies?

The fuel pump is mechanical so there is no worry there as far as the power goes. I would try swapping out the CPS with a new one from Ford or International. It is a cheap fix if it works and if not, you have a spare!

By random I mean it will start, run you may go 10 miles and it quit or 100 miles and quit.

On the gpr are you using a GPR 109? the GPR109 I had would last 8 months tops then I'd have to get a new one. The last one I had fried and kept feeding the PCM power and wouldnt let the truck turn off.

How do you get it to start again when it shuts off?

Automatic or manual tranny?

Mine did that and boy was it frustrating. Engine would instantly die on the highway and start right back up sometimes. Turned out the Fuel heater wire came loose from solder joint and would intermttantly ground out depending on how much the truck jostled. Just disconnected the sensor. Bought a new one but couldnt get the Checkvalve out...found out it was a reverse thread.

Good call and info Usaman, but normally when that happens the maxi fuse #22 blowns out. the truck could live without that fuel heater. And yes the stand pipe is REVERSE THREADS.
BTW welcome to the forum.

I'm not a car mechanic but don't mind doing things myself to get it done. I've been lurking this site for a year now and see so much help and expertise. I'll be needing it soon with an under load, weak shudder that came about the other day.

Concerning that signature and stuff...have no idea what that is.
