Tranny Troubles!!!

have a 1997 F 150 XL extended cab w/ a 4.2L, automatic transmission. i was driving along and then had to stop short because someone cut me off. when i went to push the throttle again the engine drove fine until it went for third gear..then nothing, just revving of the motor. i am very frustrated with this problem because i need this truck to work and i have to ride with a co worker everyday!!!!

PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!

i also have never had any previous problems with the tranny before this.

Sorry, if your fluid is full, it sounds like it's time for a rebuild.

i am taking it to the dealership on Monday for a diagnostic and hopefully that will yeild some results!!!!

i brought the truck into the dealership today and it will be diagnoised on monday.

i hope everything goes well. it might just be the automatic transmission electronic module. thats what i read in other posts.

thanks again
