94 e40d 4.9 rough shifts, no power

Hey all, new to the forum. My name is dan, i drive a medium red 1994 f150 xl, reg cab long bed, i bought it with 100,000 or so on the 4.9, at 115,000 right now. NY rust on the bed and fenders but strong underneath, fresh oil and coolant change, full tune up, belt, thrush exhaust, brakes, leaf springs, brand new tires, plus many small things. Averaging 21 mpg which i love, but it seems as if im not getting nearly as much power as i should be. Low end is great but getting up to speed feels as if all the power comes in a giant lump, then it shifts. I drive 40+ miles a day, so i know her well. no tach, and she shifts pretty rough into 2nd sometimes and 3rd every once in a while. A jolting shift that gets your attention. Im not too sure whats causing this, fluid is fine, ive done everything i can to make her run better but it seems luike something is holding me back, torque converter, psom, i have no clue but any ideas would be great. Oh and she used to throw the check engine on intermittenly for a couple seconds at a time but it hasnt done it in a month or so, love the truck, plan on keepin g her run until shes got no more to give!

That transmission is completely computer controlled so don't guess... ask the computer what's up.. meaning pull the codes.

It's time to get the manual out (or get one) and learn how to use it..

Go online with the model number of your scanner, you should be able to find a downloadable manual, or at least instructions for use you can print out...

More like a signal from the tps to let the ecu know where the throttle is at all times to function correctly along with feedback from a number of other sensors to function properly, not necessarily a tach signal.

It's a small Lego looking piece coming off of the ignition module, either off the distributor or on the fender

123: Throttle Position Sensor Circuit Above Maximum Voltage

I think you messed something up, because the rest of the codes are not valid numbers, and just "4" is not a possible value to get at all.

Something still doesn't seem quite right with that 32.

For what it's worth, TPS and manual lever position sensor issues can give harsh/incorrectly timed shifts.

I'd try taking the truck down to autozone and having them run a read on it.

Yes, something is off here, these trucks have a 2 digit code or a 3 digit code, but they WILL NOT be mixed.....
