problem with degas overflowing

We had a guy having a problem like yours on here a few years ago. He changed the tstat but he didn't know there was a short shaft and a long shaft stat. He had the short shaft stat in his housing. He changed to the long shaft stat and problem was solved.
Might not be the same but something to check.
