got my 390 shortblock back today and started assembly.
has all the must do oiling mods.
after slappin on the rockers i grabbed a deep 1/4" socket and electrical taped it to a long extension and rigged it into a air drill then started priming the pump.
now the passanger side oiled great, the drivers side is having issues.
2 rockers are not getting oil.
these are used rockers. factory.
i am sure that the issue is that the oil is not transfering around the shaft into the rockers passage.
the rocker passage and the shaft hole are not plugged.
Is it possible that more oil pressure is required to oil these 2 rockers?
also they are closest to the supply passage stand.
i dont want to fire untill i have it figured out.
i have to run a stock rocker to a truck engine. or else i would have a nice roller rocker system.
The bolt hole with the oil gallery uses a bolt that is tapered behind the threads to allow the oil to flow. Maybe you got them mixed up? There are small oil passages on the shaft itself that could be plugged. Check the arms for excessive play. The tolerances are pretty tight. Good luck.
If you don't see oil drizzling out of a couple of rockers bump the engine and try again. Could also be the oil galley in the head, the block to the rocker shaft support galley. May be stopped up with some crud.

Better not be plugged. Motor just got back from the shop.
I had the restrictors put in and I think the air drill don't have the speed to run the pressure up.
I'm going to bump it to see if that works.
