Complete Dash removal help

I have a 1978 ford Truck I would like to remove the entire dash. It seems to be welded in. I was seeking Any advice on removal. Also as far as reinstalling has anyone ever been able to bolt it in? I was thinking of doing that.

Thanks

I have no experience with a '78, but on my '75, the dash appears to be bolted it. The bolts are accessable after removing the speedo cluster and the glove box. I haven't completely removed my dash, but I had to deal with the mounting bolts because one of the door switch wires was pinched and shorted by the mounting bolt behind the speedo.

The are a bunch of Phillips screws on top behind the dash pad. Then a couple by the steering column. Then two bolts on either side in the kick panel.

first the insterment cluster needs out. four screws for that and unhook the speedo then dash pad needs out screw on top and one nut in the middle of the dash where the dash pad drops down. steering colum has two bolt and nuts. along the kick panel are two bolts. one on either side. now i have left the center nut on the dash pad and took it out in one piece but the dash pad gets hung up on the door seals. so if your dash pad is good i would take the time to take it out first.

Before removing the dash, has anyone installed modular plug connectors for the wiring to make reconnecting the harness simpler when the dash is reinstalled?
