Any tire shop will be more than happy to help you out with your quest if you're about to shell out some money for rims and tires.

Help

Yes you would think they would be jumping to help make a sale but discount tire isn't. Also I forgot to mention that the ifs has two inch drop spindles as well. Thank you again all advice is greatly welcomed. I'm mainly just trying to see what over people with my same set up ran.

Discount Tire and most other major tire chain doesn't work like they use to... This is another art form that has gone aside with the computer techs have taken over meany jobs... Now they just look up in the computer for what is OEM anf then +/- size after that. Call a couple Hot Rod / Speed shops and see if they can help. Also call some of your second hand tire stores as they don't just use a computer, Just no big chain.

Very true. I didn't even take the lack of customer service into consideration. Alaska is even worse for customer service. The military is moving us back to Arizona next year. I'll miss the beauty of Alaska but will be happy to have more choices as a consumer....

Here's a link that shows how to measure for backspacing. I used a link like this to help decide the size rims and backspacing to use.
The thing about tires and rims there are a ton of different compos to go with. It's just a matter of matching what you want and fitting your setup.

Don't count on it. Everyone's build is unique and everyone's idea of cool is different. The vast majority of us are low-buckers and wouldn't shell out the big bucks for an aftermarket chassis, and I don't recall anyone who has your exact setup. You're going to have to do your own research, crawling under your truck with a tape measure and straight edge to ensure your satisfaction.

IMHO, Discount Tire sucks. I called different local tire stores shopping for tires on my daily driver a couple months ago. Discount was on the list. I told the guy on the phone what I was looking for. He gave me a number and then his exact words were "How do you like that price?" It just felt slimey the way he said it. And sure, it was about $30 per tire cheaper than the next competitor. But when I asked for the true out the door, tax and license included price, he grumbled and gave me a different number that was the same as what I was getting elsewhere. They're all about bait and switch, not service. I took my business elsewhere to a more local establishment where I was well taken care of, for the same money. The moral of the story is, there's got to be more than just Discount Tire in your neighborhood, and likely there's one that will be much more helpful. I can name several in my town.

Great point here... Just because someone has the lowest price for something, they might be getting you another way... I always ask the out the door price and the break down of those charges so I can compare "apples to apples and oranges to oranges".

I went to discount to get my tires but it was difficult to say the least. The first question they ask is year and make of vehicle. My reply was always that won't help you. It was like I didn't even respond as they asked me several more times. I went in a couple of times just to try and price wheels and tires and left without any useful info and a lot of frustration. I had to figure out exactly what I needed myself. Even when I went in, without the truck, to get wheels and tires already knowing the sizes, they still wanted to know the make and year. I got irritated and told the guy that it wasn't his concern. In Houston there just aren't many small tire and wheel people left, mostly just the big boys.
